Hyannis Port Lost a Son, America Lost its Champion

I felt numbed when I heard Ted Kennedy had passed. We all knew he was sick and that he didn't have much time left. However, I couldn't stop thinking about his family and the tragedies they've endured throughout the years and albeit their many faults, they are an admirable family. May his family and friends find comfort during this time.

RIP Ted Kennedy.

That wasn't half bad

For the last few months, we (the mr* and I) have been throwing around the idea of inviting some of our friends over for food and drinks. As I recall, that was one of the first ideas we had when we moved to our new place. Three months later, and countless hours spent getting the house in decent shape, we decided it was time to open the house to others outside our families.

The date was finally set for August 8th, next the evites were sent. As the replies came in and the realization set in, I had to start planning the menu. But more importantly, the realization that I was hosting an event at my own place, not my parents' or an apartment we'd lived in until earlier this year. As usual I was too busy with life and work to actually stress about this.

Today, I'm glad to report things went smoothly and took mental notes to make improvements for the next event. Thanks everyone for making time and visiting us.
